Donal Ryan, Managing Director of Equinome, will be giving a presentation at the California Thoroughbred Breeders' Association (CTBA) Annual Seminar on Friday, 24th September at Harris Ranch, Coalinga.
Entitled "The Speed Gene - New Genetic Technologies to Enhance Decision Making", Mr. Ryan's presentation will explain the science behind the test, how to interpret the information provided by it and how to then best incorporate it into breeding and training decision making.
Other speakers presenting at the seminar include: Jeffrey Bloom, executive vice president of west coast operations for West Point Thoroughbreds; Michael O'Hagan, chief executive, Irish Thoroughbred Marketing, County Kildare, Ireland; and Barbara Marsh, horse trainer.
John Harris, CTBA board member and commissioner for the California Horse Racing Board, will moderate a panel featuring: Guy Lamothe, chief operating officer of the Thoroughbred Owners of California; Craig Fravel, president and general manager of Del Mar Thoroughbred Club; Chris Korby, executive director of the California Racing Fairs; Alan Balch, executive director of California Thoroughbred Trainers and Doug Burge, executive vice president of the CTBA.
There also will be a journalist panel - "You've Got News: How to Share Your Message with a Broader Audience" - featuring Larry Stewart, Thoroughbred Times; Jack Shiner, The Blood-Horse; Debbie Arrington, Sacramento Bee.
