Publication of scientific paper describing Dr Emmeline Hill's discovery of the 'Speed Gene'

The scientific data supporting the Equinome Speed Gene test has been peer-reviewed and published this week in the open access on-line Public Library of Science Journal, PLoS ONE.

The paper, entitled A sequence polymorphism in MSTN predicts sprinting ability and racing stamina in Thoroughbred horses, describes the identification of the DNA sequence variant in the myostatin gene, and the genetic association study that led to the discovery that this sequence variant is a powerful predictor of best race distance in flat racing Thoroughbred horses.
